Area Attractions

Scudder Hill House is close to skiing, hiking, parks, lakes, reservoir fishing, golf, and several restaurants. Just across the street from us is Lake Wawaka where you may take a stroll or rent a kayak. Shopping and sightseeing are just minutes away in Roxbury and the town of Margaretville.

Also nearby, only minutes from us, are Plattekill, Belleayre, Windham, Hunter Mountains which offer skiing, snowboarding, and tubing in the winter. Catskill Recreation Center, Arkville, indoor pool.

Fishing

Pepacton Reservoir

Get your license and cast your lures or live bait from the shores or trolling from a rowboat on the Pepacton Reservoir, which is stocked with large brown trout, large and small bass, perch, rock bass and more. This reservoir is about 20 miles long and 1/2 mile wide and is located off Rte 28 west about ten minutes from us.

Pine Hill Lake at Belleayre Mountain

Pine Hill Lake has a variety of fish: Trout, Smallmouth Bass, Catfish, and Perch. All New York State fishing laws are strictly enforced.

Hunter Mountain Fly Fishing School & Guide Services
